Finally! I have finally traced my grandmother's maiden name (Cronkrite) and am so excited about its mysterious Dutch origin in the New World! Her father was Albert H. Cronkrite (1842-1898), the son of John Cronkrite and nephew of Lyman Cronkrite. They are the sons of Henry Cronkrite and Malinda Marshall. I'm having trouble verifying the parents of this Henry Cronkrite, though, and would appreciate any advice/assistance in tracing the name farther. Some of the information that I've run across indicates that he's the son of Hendrick Henry Cronkrite/Kronckheit/Krankheit, but the spelling alterations make this confusing, at best. Thank you! Anyway, we must be distantly related, don't you think?
